Network Engineer

Philippine-based HR Solutions company Lennor Metier is in partnership with a start-up outsourcing company to recruit for a Network Engineer.

The position will be based in Ortigas, Pasig, Philippines.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the growing network infrastructure and will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

Some main responsibilities will include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary.


  • Establish and maintain network performance
  • Building net configurations and connections
  • Troubleshoots network problems
  • IP address auditing
  • Installation and configuration of the network infrastructure for the company’s customers
  • Implementing and supporting various network infrastructure solutions
  • Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, access points, wireless controllers, network monitoring tools)
  • Providing direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations
  • Interacting with vendors and third parties for problem resolution
  • Maintaining multi-site network operations with both private and public facilities
  • Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring tools. (Wireshark, Port query, Cacti)
  • Works with ticketing application tools
  • Takes over tickets from clients and track them from opening to closure based on the existing Support Process (changes and incidents) and contract SLAs
  • Gathers information needed from the client in order to complete the ticket
  • Follows-up constantly with the client and/or Global Providers for status updates
  • Monitors network health, responding appropriately to network alerts and events to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues
  • Completes reports based on the internal policies
  • Participates in teleconference sessions with the client
  • Updates network diagrams and procedures


  • Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or any related field
  • Has at least three (3) years of experience in network administration
  • Willing to undergo training for months
  • Cisco certification: CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Security
  • Has hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Proven hands-on network engineering experience
  • Has an understanding of networking protocols such as IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS
  • Solid knowledge of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Has basic knowledge in Cisco configure and troubleshoot (LAN switching, IP routing, IP services, QoS, Network Management, Security, Wi-Fi)
  • Strong ability to implement, manage, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, wireless controllers and monitoring applications
  • Has basic knowledge in Meraki configure and troubleshoot is preferable
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Very good command of English
  • Good problem-solving capabilities and analytical skills
  • Willing to work in shifting schedules
  • Strong ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner
